baybeats 09 – day 1 (after glow)

Got back from Baybeats 2009 and I declare that I had an awesome time spent! I wasn’t in any hardcore mode, so started the night off with the chillout area, listening to For This Cycle (they tweet here). I’m impressed with how they sound live, though the venue was quite airy, I thought dang, these boys have the voice! Okay, it’s official, I’m a teeny fan of them now! Haha!

On another note, I was literally STARSTRUCK by Cyndi Seui x Stargazer! They did an awesome set! Chan chob mak mak ka! And ‘My name is Dos’ was played too, *sing along*! Fancy listening it live is really different from what you hear through your small speakers. I certainly hope that they do come back and have a full good set played in Singapore and this time, please bring along Yuri’s Norminee + the whole of Kitsch Cat. Which I am also lovin’ much! I’d love to blog more, but my body + mind is literally shutting down! So I’d leave you’ll with 2 very ‘pop my cherry heart’ photos! Haha! Okay, maybe it was just my heart!

I have got a long day tomorrow, starting with a ‘date’ with my (newly found) dentist, then Coco Chanel, birthday dinner celebrations for IVY and then back to Baybeats for 2nd night of good stuff!

Good night people!
I’d leave you peeps with images that brings a smile on my face!

the get up kids – my apology

OMGGGGG! It’s The Get Up Kids! How can anyone forget about them, they were one of the first few indie bands that I heard years back and the funny thing is I actually remember all the lyrics to their songs! As I was playing back the video, fond memories flashed back + the words automatically just came out!

Yes, it’s those days that songs were on repeat mode and it accompanied me through my ‘studying’ years! My favourite has got to be ‘My Apology’! True to being an Indie Kid!

If there’s ever a chance, do drop by Singapore! Pleaseeeee!

hairloom and caramel

So the trio made a trip down to Hairloom and Caramel, where we had an A++ time spent. Nothing will go wrong with great friends + accompanied with awesome food! I had the Smoked salmon spaghetti in lemon cream sauce while Ping had the Unagi sandwich with Japanese mayo and Ivy had the Banana chocolate cake! (Pictures coming up!)

I loved my spag, depending on if you can take food with an extraordinary taste, because of the smoked salmon (a tad fishy) + lemon cream sauce (sourish), it has this different feel to the it. I personally liked it, quite different from your usual kind of cream sauce spag, interesting!

Ping’s unagi sandwich was perfect, the bread toasted to a crispy/crunchy state with the thick serving of the unagi (o_0), nice! The combination of the soft unagi + the crunchy bread/veges, made it quite a dish! I think I’d be back for this the next time round.

Ivy’s banana chocolate cake! Word, HEAVENLY! The thick chocolate sauce and banana combination makes you crave for more. But I suggest to share, eating it alone might be a little too heavy for the stomach.

The whole place is a hair salon + cafe, so if you want to get your hair done, do drop by earlier! Anyways, I really liked the staff too, this very nice person gave me ‘plant (seed)lings’, which I have no idea what’s the name of it. But I can say it’s super cute and suitable for a desk plant which I will eventually put it in office! I need some nice greenery since there isn’t a window that I can look out to.

Do bring along your camera (with batteries, cos mine died even before I could take 1 photo!), you’ll be intrigued by the interior, trust me, we all DID! Haha!

We’re going back again this weekend! Stay tune for other reviews!

‘Stalk’ them at their twitter page for updates on the daily specials, which I am hooked unto checking out on a daily basis. Since office is within walking distance, so when I see something that I like! *giggles* You know where you can find me!

audrey tautou in chanel no˚5 commercial

Riding on the Coco Chanel heat, here is Audrey Tautou in it’s latest commercial. It is just something about Tautou that has this certain attraction towards her viewers and her subtle smile that is captivating. She always manages to portray her role in any show very well, it is as though it’s a real life experience for her.

I believe that Coco Chanel is like no other, we are definitely looking out for it. I’ve got a friend who is an avant ‘fan’ of her works. So Ivy, here’s for you.
