Guest Blog: Places #1

Hello,

Let me take you somewhere else.

I’ve just returned home after watching two films today. The thought of these led me to remember this one film — Chris Marker’s La Jetée. You can say it changed my life.

Made in 1962, it remains timeless. The story, the execution, the idea resonates with minimal, limited effects and timeframe. One of the best stories told in 27 minutes.

Dear Galileo (Thai movie)

I have been getting a lot of searches under this category, of Thai Music, Thai Movies and more importantly, this movie, Dear Galileo.

I have managed to find some links to watch them online (check out Lizchon’s youtube channel). Hope it works and enjoy the movie. I know how hard it is to find Thai films outside Thailand itself, but I make it a purpose to buy them whenever I can and I hope you can do the same too.

Please support original films! Without your support, they would not have enough funds and without funds, they cannot make good movies!

*Ps, the show is without english subtitles, but I am very sure based on the film itself, even without understanding their dialogue, you will enjoy it. But of course if you come across any sites with the english subtitles in it and is willing to share, LET ME KNOW! Thanks.

5th Singapore Short Film Festival

Yes it’s the time of the year, Singapore Short Film Festival and it’s the 5th running year. I have a few films that I am looking forward to. Actually too many to choose from, so  I am going to spend some time reading through each links on how/what the films are about.

For sure, S-Express THAI films are screaming out for my name! *eupheeeeeee* and the Singapore’s line up is also another choice of mine.

“Tribute to Alexis & Nika’ is a must watch for me. Upon reading news about what has happened to them from Wise Kawi, I am quite shocked. Though I have not seen films by him, which I would like to, seeing comments pouring in endlessly, I know he is definitely one great loss to the film industry.

Let me know if anyone is interested in going for S-Express: Thailand, S-Express: Singapore and Tribute to Alexis & Nika. I’d get tickets!

Dear Galileo – New Thai Movie Released …

Anyone has any idea what movie is this? I saw the trailer and tried looking for it, but nothing came out. My alternative solution is only Golden Mile! Hahah! Or anyone who knows where I can watch Thai movies in Singapore at a not so ‘lap sup’ place, at least a place where I feel safe entering in the dark, heh!

EDIT
Kob kun mak ka to WK of Wise Kwai for the information, so this film’s called Dear Galileo, and it’s same director who did ‘Seasons Change’ (I’m a huge fan of that show!!). I totally dig the start of the movie’s teaser, with the cute animation, a very different twist to this show. Well what more can I expect from a movie with 2 of my favourite country, Thailand and Europe!
