I have been coming across many singers these days who knows the essence of such classic songs and have decided to do a version of their own, which I feel that it’s an awesome choice!! The tough part of singing such songs is that it would often be compared with the original singer who obviously did a wonderful job, if not it wouldn’t be known as a classic song, right? But in all that, I had fun listening to the newer generation singers who has also done a great job in injecting a life of their own to the remake of these songs.
So here’s a compilation of songs that has been on my current playlist, both new and old!
Do you have any other old vs new songs that you have taken fancy of? Let me know!

Ever since I heard Singto Numchok‘s version of various songs he did covers on his YouTube channel about a year ago, I must say, I was hooked! Especially when he did the My Cherie Amour – that was my ultimate favourite that made me a mega fan of him!!
So much so that when I was in Bangkok for a holiday I had to get my hands on his CD which was sold out everywhere till I had to begged the music store guy to sell me his copy of “Not For Sale” (which I got at a discount, so double score). The music store guy kept telling me to “..wan proong nee (come tomorrow)” but I was already flying back to Singapore the next day!! I think he must have never met such a persistent buyer till he gave up!
Singto Namchoke is also 1 of the few reasons why I really want to learn to play the Ukulele! Since I doubt I can ever master the guitar, maybe something smaller with lesser strings would be more manageable? There’s just something about him and his voice that makes your day happy by just listening to him. It’s those kind of tunes that is suitable for both indoors while being busy at work and also the great outdoors with a nice cold mojito by your hand! *Ahhh, I like*
Anyways, I can’t wait for his new stuff – not that he has any, but MAYBE?!

Do check out his other amazing songs at his YouTube channel that dates way back to those days when he wasn’t signed as an artist.
