I’m hungry

Wanted to take a break from all that Korean postings as I’m stuck with what I should write. So here goes a food post that has been sitting in my draft for a long time. I am always gamed up for food adventures – be it locally or overseas. But in any case, I’m posting this because I’m 101% missing the awesome food in Penang and of course my cousins & their families. Hopefully, I can head back real soon for a short break!!

Char Kwey Theow – the white stuff at the top is authentic crab meat that added a tinge of sweetness in it. Really!

Though not as good as the first Char Kwey Theow, this wasn’t that bad either but I think Mom was being picky.

The awesomest pancake ever! That had this milky taste if you had it plain or if you wanted a choice of coconut fillings! Both equally GOOD!

No trip to Malaysia is complete without A&W (if it’s possible) – all thanks to Sillypore not even having 1 outlet! *booohoo* I miss having my WAFFLES daily!

I still think that A&W is the ONLY place that does the curly fries the right way! As I type this, I’m already drooling!

THIS Tau huay or known as Tau Fa in cantonese, I cannot stop raving how good it is! Other than the fact that it’s smooth, it’s the syrup that makes it even better! Unlike in Singapore, we use normal sugar syrup but in Malaysia they use Gula Melaka (palm sugar) which makes the consistency + overall taste AWESOME! It was so good that we had to take-away 2 packets each!

Chee Chong Fan – another of a dish that I can eat daily without getting bored of it! Another dish that has a bit of a difference between Singapore & Malaysia is the choice of sauce. An unusual sauce made up of Har Gao which mostly used only in Malaysia while Singapore uses the sweet sauce.

Work x Eat x Visit

This is a uber duper late entry of my (not so recent) trip to Kuala Lumpur for work. From the 4th – 7th of Aug 2010. Being the first time in a plane, all by myself *cue to sing the LONELY song*, I realised I cannot travel alone! I need someone next to me to share my experience with. Truthfully, there were times that I forgot that I’m all alone, and I’d blurt out a comment and then to shut up in embarrassment.

Though it was a work trip, but being in a land of ’char siew fan’, ‘chee chong fan’, kopi GAOx2 and many more! I cannot forgo such delicious food! Ps, sorry, not much photos of food because before I can remember to take a snap, it has been gobbled down by me. Hahahaha! I’d let the photos do the talking. I wished I had more time to walk around KL! Boy, do I miss this place! For sure, I’d be back for a holiday instead – EATING!!

Nothing like John Mayer to accompany me through the lonely trip – all alone.

FOOD + SUPER DUPER UBER AWESOME COFFEE

Mr Buzz was a birthday gift to the Boss from his nice colleagues.

Made new friends – Yu-In, Kenji, Chris & William.

Reminisce in the good old times with new additional members to the family – meet the 3 darlings!

Across the border
