Riding on the Coco Chanel heat, here is Audrey Tautou in it’s latest commercial. It is just something about Tautou that has this certain attraction towards her viewers and her subtle smile that is captivating. She always manages to portray her role in any show very well, it is as though it’s a real life experience for her.
I believe that Coco Chanel is like no other, we are definitely looking out for it. I’ve got a friend who is an avant ‘fan’ of her works. So Ivy, here’s for you.
I finally could strike off another of my ‘must watch’ movies. I had the opportunity to get my hands on this movie, Coco Chanel. The movie was about her life as to how she became involved in sewing and how she managed to set up her label.
For me personally, the few things I enjoy about this show is her ‘quotes’ that I can learn from. To name a few “women wearing the wrong perfume has no future“, “fashion is a caterpillar by day and butterfly by night. dresses should both crawl and fly“, “materials doesn’t matter, what matters is the vision“. Plus how she overcome many obstacles that were so clear during her time of setting up the label to even when her label was established. Her never say die attitude towards life is one that we can all learn from, she was a firm believer that women should dress comfortably yet don’t compromise for fashion/style.
Now I see Chanel in a different light and perspective, total due respect for her!
Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel is one that went against all odds to push and advocate women about dressing with the correct add ons to even choosing the right perfume (which I totally agree on what she has said). Well, I shall not spoil the whole feel of the movie, but all I can say is, WATCH IT, you’ll love it!
this is the english version of the movie, called ‘coco chanel’, but as for the french version ‘coco avant chanel n° 5′. i am not sure if it’s the same plot but in different language or one is about coco herself and the other is the ever famous n° 5?
not much found about the differences of both the movies, but i presume one is about her life itself, from the her humble days to where she has established a name for the label she founded whereas the other is in a french setting, maybe somewhat nearer to the real feel of what she is (since she’s french).
coco chanel stars shirley maclaine, malcolm mcdowell and barbora bobulova while the french version stars audrey tauto, benoît poelvoorde and lisa cohen, to just name a few.
“Coco Chanel” is the rags-to-riches tale charting the rise of one of the most influential fashion icons of the 20th century. From her humble childhood in a French orphanage, through her early days as a young dressmaker’s assistant, to her passionate and tragic love with a dashing Englishman, and ultimately to her success as a pioneering icon, “Coco Chanel” is the story of a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore.”
a friend mentioned that the ‘coco avant chanel’ would be released in singapore some time in august, so watch out for that. i am sure it’ll send another movie craze in the design scene. for the time being, we’ll have to make do with the english version first, well better than nothing. so be patient! 20th august to be exact!
anyone has an idea of where can i get this film?
(you know that you’ll be loved x100)
