Old vs New

I have been coming across many singers these days who knows the essence of such classic songs and have decided to do a version of their own, which I feel that it’s an awesome choice!! The tough part of singing such songs is that it would often be compared with the original singer who obviously did a wonderful job, if not it wouldn’t be known as a classic song, right? But in all that, I had fun listening to the newer generation singers who has also done a great job in injecting a life of their own to the remake of these songs.

So here’s a compilation of songs that has been on my current playlist, both new and old!

Do you have any other old vs new songs that you have taken fancy of? Let me know!

กระแซะเข้ามาซิ (Gra-sae Kao Maa Si)

方大同,我们来了!

This would be my 2nd time seeing him, the first was when he came to Singapore to promote his “This Love” (爱爱爱) in 2006? I can still clearly remember it was held at HMV Heeren on a Saturday afternoon. It’s been such a long time and I finally get to hear him in person! 方大同, if you ever see this, PRETTY PLEASE come to Singapore to have a full concert and not as a guest because your faithful fans are waiting like FOREVER! ^^

This time round, I have both of my best friends to enjoy with me!! They are the steadiest bunch of friends – from finding out how this showcasae works to calling them and agreeing without much thinking, all within 30 mins?! Yay, couldn’t ask for more. Good singer, good music and good friends! *Yipppppy*

FYI: For those who are still clueless as to what’s happening. Khalil Fong is coming to Singapore this 10th June 2011 (Friday), 7PM at Zirca. You have to get a Limited Edition CD (might cost a bit more than the usual price, I paid $38) that would come with the showcase tickets but the problem is most places are already out of stock. I made like a few frantic calls to various places just to get my hands on the last 3 copies at Gramophone (Illuma) – the lady at the counter said that the branch only brought in 6 copies of the CD, so I’m UBER thankful!

But you could try calling up other music stores and leave your names down and if they do have extra stock or if they can bring in more, they contact you.

All the best!! For those who has the album, SEE YOU!
