Old vs New

I have been coming across many singers these days who knows the essence of such classic songs and have decided to do a version of their own, which I feel that it’s an awesome choice!! The tough part of singing such songs is that it would often be compared with the original singer who obviously did a wonderful job, if not it wouldn’t be known as a classic song, right? But in all that, I had fun listening to the newer generation singers who has also done a great job in injecting a life of their own to the remake of these songs.

So here’s a compilation of songs that has been on my current playlist, both new and old!

Do you have any other old vs new songs that you have taken fancy of? Let me know!

On the roll of my Korean updates, here’s something totally unrelated to travelling but more towards the culture of the country. I have always been a firm believer of Indie music regardless of language as I think it’s like an alternative perspective to a country/language. Yes, Korea isn’t a country that’s filled with K-pop/Drama – not saying that it’s bad but there’s always another side to each country waiting to be discovered.  This is my take on Korean Indie music where most of them either plays at pubs/clubs and is easy on the ears.

Nell - 기억을 걷는 시간

Peppertones – Salary

Ibadi – Morning Call

True Worshippers – Glory to Glory

MEEKNESS AND MAJESTY
IN HUMBLENESS YOU CAME DOWN AND RESCUED ME
YOU GAVE IT ALL UPON THE CROSS
AS AN OFFERING

YOU TRADED YOUR LIFE FOR ME
IN RIGHTEOUSNESS YOU POURED OUT YOUR LOVE SO FREE
AND NOW MY SOUL WILL WORSHIP YOU
AS AN OFFERING

WE COME INTO YOUR PRESENCE NOW IN AWE
CASTING ALL OUR CROWNS AT YOUR FEET
HOW WONDERFUL THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE DONE
FOREVER YOU WILL REIGN GLORIOUS

BE LIFTED UP FROM GLORY TO GLORY TO GLORY
WE OFFER UP THE PRAISES THAT YOU DESERVE
YOU’RE CHANGING US FROM GLORY TO GLORY TO GLORY
OUR LIVES WILL SHINE BEFORE YOU AND SHOUT YOUR WORTH
YOU’RE GLORIOUS

music: i’m feeling 80′s …

Bobby Brown – Every Little Step

Roxette – It Must Have Been Love

Nick Kamen – Each Time You Break My Heart

Being a 80′s kid meant that I was growing up to songs like this and truthfully I would still unknowingly bloop my head to the beat. Hahah, quite a scene, especially if my mom hears them. The inner groovy kid is always in her, just that she has no avenue to showcase them. ^^

Enjoy and don’t get caught swaying to the beat!!
